For years the question has been looming, “Will microblogging replace blogging?” After all, in minutes you can share a thought, idea, piece of news, image or video on sites like Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, insert favorite platform here. And yet it seems popular blogs keep on kicking, and what started out as “weblogs” aren’t loosing steam as many predicted.
Though not prepared to stake a claim on one platform over another, I’ve complied some info to let you decide. I began blogging in 2007 because I love to write; on the other hand, there’s no denying my Twitter addiction and Instagram has endeared itself to me lately as well. I can tell a story, make a point and interact easily on Instagram which prompted this post and made me once again consider the question, “Is blogging necessary these days?”
